Sandra

Hi! I’m Sandra. I’m a researcher and activist. I enjoy reading, talking to people, and writing. The topics I address in my research include sustainability in the Eastern European context, public participation, the democratization of knowledge, ethics, and a critique of capitalist power structures. And the causes I’m passionate about are social justice, migrants’ rights, and the fight against eco-apartheid.

I’ve been living in Berlin on and off since 2014, and I’ve been with DCB since 2025. Here, I try to help out however I can within the limits of my available time: organizing events, setting up spaces, and offering my opinion.

I lead a fairly transnational life and spend about half the year in Romania. I’m thus rooted both in the reality of Romania and in the life of the Berlin-based diaspora. You might run into me at a modern art gallery in Berlin, in a park in Neukölln, or on a Tuesday at Control. And in my free time, I enjoy experimenting with different textile processing techniques.
