The First Meeting
We started on February 19, 2017, on the Sunday when we met to protest, but also to talk to each other.
Street movements had begun to lose momentum, the emergency ordinance (OUG13) was forcibly withdrawn from the political landscape, but the frustration and indignation of Romanians, either at home or abroad, was still boiling.
Diaspora Civică Berlin (DCB for short) had just found its name and this first meeting in a static formula from a physical point of view, but dynamic in terms of exchanged ideas, gave weight to the belief that a movement like DCB is imperative to maintain newly rediscovered political consciousness, and in the absence of a political act of the magnitude of such a tipping point (OUG13).
